New Schools Make New Park Popular

Paul Sullivan of the Montgomery Advertiser wrote a wonderful article about New Park and we wanted to share it with you!  Please read below:

East Montgomery’s New Park is more than 1,400 acres of a master-planned community located off Park Crossing between Taylor and Ray Thorington roads.

The overall master plan consists of a wide variety of single-family residences, retail or commercial sites, assisted living and church locations and a multifamily area, said Anita L. Carter, vice president and associate broker, Jim Wilson & Associates LLC.

“With the vision of our founder, James W. Wilson, Jr., New Park is positioned to be the premier location in east Montgomery for years to come,” Carter said. “Real estate is location, location, location. New Park is the smartest address in town.”

New Park is having an Open House Weekend from 1 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 18–19. Also, the New Park Information Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, or call 215-9215 for an appointment.

New Park is situated within walking and biking distance of the newest schools in the city — James W. Wilson, Jr. Elementary, Johnnie R. Carr Middle School and the new Park Crossing High School. In addition, James W. Wilson YMCA is located in the center of the neighborhood. Also, near the neighborhood are baseball and softball fields. New Park is just minutes away from east Montgomery’s excellent shopping and dining.

New Park offers new homes starting in the low $200,000s. Its builder’s guild offers buyers the nation’s top builder, DR Horton, along with six premier local custom builders: Elegant Homes, Excel Construction, Hugh Cole Builder, Milton Strickland Builders, Nathan Watson Builder and W. J. Sellers Custom Homes, all with years of experience, Carter said.

”By showcasing our local builders and D.R. Horton, New Park is able to offer a wide variety of builders, creating an appealing streetscape and curb appeal along with comfortable, livable and beautiful homes in a park-like neighborhood,“ she said.

Homebuyers so far represent a cross section of the River Region, and include young families, retirees, military, out-of-towners relocating, and buyers moving within the city because of what the New Park concept offers, and the newer schools.

Carter said many new homebuyers want open floor plans, outdoor living, energy-efficient features, and flexible space and rooms.

”Our buyers are seeking a community that gives them a good quality of life, convenience to work, recreation and entertainment, and a great school system,” she said. “But also a home that works within their budget and lifestyle.”

Carter said New Park is in the midst of a great year, and she expects the momentum to carry into the fall. Phase one of the development is almost sold out, and phase two opened earlier this year and its expansion is already underway.
