New Park is the only community to offer the city’s newest elementary school just a sidewalk away right inside the neighborhood. The James W. Wilson, Jr. Elementary School is now under construction and will open for the fall 2009 school year. In addition, an adjacent state-of-the-art YMCA complex - offering a fun, safe place for organized youth programs, exercise opportunities, swimming and more - will be just a short walk from your front door when you live at New Park. Plus, the city’s newest middle school - The Johnnie R. Carr Middle School now under construction and opening fall 2009 – is located adjacent to New Park and will be accessible to neighborhood residents via neighborhood sidewalks.
